Sookie, who?

The only Sookie I have ever been aware of was the bubbly little bff of Lorelei Gilmore. I have heard of True Blood, but never jumped on that bandwagon ... until my recent vacation. Being the HBO series is such a hit, I thought I'd grab a copy of Dead Until Dark to see what the big hype was all about.

Olive Your Style ...

Happy September!! We are going into the fall season, which means new fashion styles! What does everyone think of the military-inspired looks coming out? At first, I wasn't so sure. I am all about supporting our troops (my little brother fought in Iraq for the Army National Guard), but I don't wanna walk around trying to look like a militant. While on our vacation last week, hubby and I shopped the outlets in Cabazon, California (uh.maze.ing), and he picked out an army-style jacket from Charlotte Russe that he thought I would like. Before he let me walk away from it, he had me try it on. I actually liked it and it is now mine!
I think I am liking this look in pieces. As long as it is not overdone in one outfit, I think it is a cute statement. Plus, who isn't a fan of olive green in the fall??

... cuz I'm leavin' on a jet plane ...

The end of August is here ... and my boys and I are are off on vacation before my first grader starts school! This last week was all about laundry, and house cleaning, and packing. Nothing exciting to blog about. It happens.
I am getting so amped for September though! The fall season will be creepin' in, and I will be back to my regularly scheduled blogging! Product reviews, diet tips and recipes, giveaways and SO MUCH MORE!! Woot!!

The current book I am reading is Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. I am about half way through and loving it! With Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon playing the leading roles in the movie (due out next year), this is definitely one you should not miss!

What's Up Wednesday ?!?

Since getting a part-time job, my insomnia woes have been cured! I am EXHAUSTED! I am scheduled 4 days a week, weeknights and weekend shifts, but I am also still a momma and a homemaker. I no longer have any trouble sleeping at night!

There are good days and there are bad days ... I think I may be getting ready to cut my hair.

Laundry still hasn't learned to do itself, so my days at home consist of a lot of this lovely chore!

Working at a gym has kicked my bootay back into gear. I am eating better and (gasp!) working out. In fact, I even met with one of our trainers, and I am in pain as I type. It's all good though.

In 10 more days, my 3 boys and I will be packed and off to sunny California ... I can't wait!
