Happy Halloween!
This is the official calendar "holiday" that kicks off the fall season for me. While I am not a big fan of this particular day, for no other reasons other than expensive, one-day costumes and being the bad cop in our house with the candy, I am excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas that are creeping up around the corner.
This year, our boys decided to skip out on trick-or-treating. Thank you, Jesus! It has been pouring buckets all week and forecasted for tonight as well. Instead, they are rockin' their favorite sport stars attire, and have decided to go on separate dates with their good ol' parents.
Our 8 1/2 year old is going to the opening Portland Trail Blazers game to cheer on his MVP, Lamarcus Aldride against the LA Lakers. He is seriously obsessed with all things NBA, and who better to share that with than his NBA-obsessed dad.
Our 6-year-old has decided on a date night to Toys R Us with his momma. He is excited to add a new WWE action figure to his collection, and I will learn all about the latest stats on each wrestler and hear about the latest drama that is going on in the WWE.
I pondered for a moment if my hubby and I should have encouraged Halloween activities a little more for the childhood experience and all, but the selfish part of me is eating up the fact that the boys just wanna hang with us. We all know there will be a time when this will not be the case, so why not take every chance we can, right?
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe night out tonight! Enjoy your kiddos in their costumes and their sugar-high excitement!
