January 2010 marked a new traffic law in Oregon that is driving me cuh.ray.zee! No more cell phones while driving, must use a hands-free device. WTF? I totally understand and support the ban on texting while driving ... big no-no in my book! You won't evah find me texting while my car is in motion, but this 'no talking with your cell phone to your ear' is driving me insane! I even think it is more dangerous for me to be fumbling around with these micro-mini gadgets, trying to get it in my ear, set up the bluetooth to my cell phone, and hope that when someone calls, I can answer the dumb thing! Talk about a distraction! Ugh. I don't think people are anymore distracted by talking on the phone than they are listening to the radio or chatting it up with their passengers. Texing, again, is a full distraction and can kill people! Holding our phones to our ears should not interfere. I mean, how many people do you know that regularly drive with both hands on the wheel ... you know, 10 and 2? Yeah, nobody I know. What's next? Drinking Starbucks in the car will be unacceptable? Sigh. I am so annoyed with this dumb new law. How about your state? Any crazy laws that erk you?

As far as I know FL doesn't have this law but if they did SOrry I'll be a law Breaker....
We don't have that law in Michigan...yet at least. And I have to agree. Having to try to figure how to use a hands free device would be alot more distracting for me then just holding to up to my ear.
Hey, one of the best Bluetooth devices that you surely won't be disappointed with is the Jawbone! How much is the fine if you are caught. It may be worth the phone to the ear...to take the risk...LOL!
Thanks for the suggestion, Shanna! The fine, if caught, is $150 ... def not something I wanna pay!
That's REALLY REALLY dumb. *mad for you*
Girl, you should read up on the new laws in VA that may or may not have been retracted, I'm talking something like $500 moving vehicle violations, it's weird, just google it. MD though, a law was just passed for no-no's for texting while driving, DC passed the no talking without a headset law a long time ago (along with no texting I believe).
Is it AFLAC that plays those funny advertisements going something like "You know it's illegal to carry a soda in your pocket" or is it State Farm...?? Regardless, they keep coming up with ridiculous laws (who knows if they're real anyways), but funny nonetheless!
