I have received a few emails recently regarding the Girly Summer Swap I hosted last month. It seems that partners are not getting gifts in return after sending out their goodies, and communications are non-existent. Now I know it is summertime ... kids are out of school, vacations are planned, schedules are hectic, yada yada yada. These are not excuses for the lack of consideration for your partner! The deadline to send your packages out was June 14th. The rules were clearly written out when you signed up to participate. It is just plain tacky to receive your gifts and to ignore the person who took time and money out of their lives to send you some fun stuff.
If for any reason you were unable to follow through on your end, you needed to contact me immediately so that I could try to re-match partners. It is wrong to accept gifts without returning the favor. Period.

Packages do get lost in the mail, but there should be no reason that you can't get in contact with your partner.
If you are one who has yet to hear from your partner after sending your package, or are having any other issues with the swap, please leave a comment here on this post or email me at aprilbaker23@yahoo.com.

eeek, this is no bueno!! I'm a huge procrastinator, so I don't try to promise anything *epic fail*
I agree...SUPER TACKY!!! Why can't people be responsible?
=[ That's crappy, it happened to me in a different swap a few months back. Sadly, that's the reason a lot of people stop hosting swaps and ruin the fun for everyone.
I was nervous about that happenening but luckily Amanda pulled through!! I have won a giveaway (by someone who is actually quite popular in the blog world) and she never sent it to me and ignored my emails about it too. I stopped following her. It's just bad manners!
Amen Sista!
I have YET to receive my swap package, after forking over $60 on this chick.. Ugh!
I never heard from my partner after leaving her a comment with my email address...I had stuff bought but lucky for me it was stuff that I liked and didn't have to waste money on shipping!!
my partner was fab!! she got mine i got hers it all good, we were a tad late, but communicated!! some people just don't have any courtesy!!
I didn't participate in this particular swap although I would have liked to. But I've been really lucky in the past with the ones I've joined in that my swap partner always sent really great stuff. I one a giveaway once and never received anything though. It wasn't a big deal though because I already had what the item the giveaway was for.
Yikes! I am sorry you are stuck dealing with a messy end of something you meant to be fun for everyone. I hope everyone steps up.
Still waiting for mine :( However, we have been communicating back and forth. So hopefully its in the mail! :) Hopefully . . .
I'm sorry to hear about the bad luck everyone is having. I learned my lesson the first two times and I actually waited for my package to arrive before sending. I felt bad to wait but at the same time it worked out this time. Thanks April. I hope you don't give up on the Swap Hosting. It was a blast.
I did send my package to my swap partner, Pondering Princess, worked frantically to choose some dee-lite-full goodies and to get it mailed by June 14! Now that is a challenge for me, as I am in a wheelchair and it's not easy to get to the P.O., but I did. And, I followed up and got a message that she did receive it and that she "Loved everything!", but I never heard from her again. It makes me feel very sad... but, what can I do? I really don't need this on top of the many issues with my health.
I DO appreciate YOU, April...for hosting this swap! Hugs and Happy Summer! Jo
