So Dora the Explorer is growing up, and she is getting a new makeover that is causing quite a stir. Complaints that the new image of Dora is going to give young girls body image issues are simply retarded. Come on, people! Really? So what - her hair is longer, she has gotten taller, and she traded her jungle sneakers for some pointy flats. And oh no! She is moving to the city and may even wear lip gloss! Gasp!! I highly doubt Miss Dora in her tween years is going to cause any controversial self-image issues in the little girls who watch her. It's not like she's making out with boys, or dancing on a pole! Ugh. I wish people would focus on more important things, like why Dora repeats herself hundreds of times, or walks around a jungle talking to animals without adult supervision.
I'm just saying.

What a shocker that Dora is growing up. I mean wouldn't it confuse lil girlies even more if she just stayed 4 years old and they continued growing older...Things that make you go hmmmm. Does this mean she's trading in the backpack for a purse?
ha...you are so funny! i have never seen the show but your post cracked me up....
Well darn it, I wanted to see the picture all in color! Now I will have to tune into the show to see it! I hate that show and blues clues!!!
Oh cool- I didn't know Dora was growing up- neat.
I'm not sure I'm with you on this one. Why does she have to have long hair and pointed to shoes? Why does a four year old care about that? I'm hoping she forgets all about Dora by the time she is five and then who cares what Dora looks like.
Dora is growing up?!! I'm way out of the loop.
Does that mean Diego is following close behind? Maybe they'll have him wearing Heely's (is that what they're called? those skating shoes? STOP laughing...my boys aren't to that age yet;) ) and some Hurley gear. Who knows. I can only imagine...
