Thursday's Thoughts ...

Hi Girls! I am so sorry I have been away. August has been so crazy busy, especially with the new job 'n all. We are about to get a mini heat wave for the next few days ... yay!! The tan I got last month has faded thanks to the non-existant summer time weather Oregon has had. I am getting so excited for our trip back down to Palm Desert, CA in just a couple more weeks! Bring on the desert heat!!!
Because the weather has been so gray around here, I have been peeking in on some fall fashion and keeping tabs on my favorites! Here's a few on my list ...

A couple weeks back, I mentioned that I was in contact with CSN Stores and was excited to be doing a review of their company. One of their promotional team members, Jason, sent me a credit code to shop out of the 200+ stores on the CSN site. It took me a little while to narrow down my wish list, but I fell in love with these ...

How cute are these boots?!? Aerosoles Squishing Trip Boots in Dark Grey Suede ... so comfy!!! I wore the snot outta my Uggs this last year, and wanted something a little different in style. I added these to my shopping cart and noticed a little link next to the price ... if I have seen these boots for a lesser price elsewhere, CSN will try to match the price! What an awesome incentive to shop with this company!
I browsed online briefly and saw them cheaper on Amazon, submitted the information to CSN, and within 10 minutes, I received a new price offer! On top of the new price, I received FREE shipping! So fabulous! I placed my order on July 19th and didn't receive my boots until yesterday, August 3rd. In my opinion, that is a bit slow, but I can't complain being I didn't have to pay extra to have them shipped.

Overall, I had a great experience with Jason and CSN Stores. This site offers so much and their customer service is wonderful! Music Monday

It always takes me a minute to like her songs when they first debut. I wasn't a fan of California Gurls when I heard it on the radio for the first time, but Katy Perry's jam quickly became my ring tone soon after. This one is another keeper on my favorites list. I can't wait to see what other hits will be on her new album!

Fashion Friday ... or Sunday

Oh girls ... what a weekend this has been!! So sorry I didn't get this posted on Friday! Thursday night I met up with my girly Jess and we dyed each others hair, then I went home and prepped for the garage sale ... until 4am!!!!! I got 2 hours of sleep (a power nap of sorts??), went about the neighborhood posting signs, then opened up shop with my sis-in-law. Our sale was awesome ... slammed most of the day and we cleared out a majority of our stuff! We earned $900 between the 2 of us!! What.a.day!!
Friday night, after cleaning up the sale, hubby and I went out with our friends, Joe and Jess, We played putt-putt, got some dinner, and went back to their place to play The Newlywed Game. Oh Em Gee ... what a hilarious game (especially with a few drinks and awesome friends)!!! Went to bed that night around 2am. Exhausted!!!
On Saturday, I went to a baby shower lunch and out shopping with my mom and sis-in-law. I felt awful sick to my stomach all day long. Thinking maybe the vodka I consumed the night before was messing with my stomach (especially since I detoxed this last week), but also keeping in mind that all 3 of my boys had just got over a random stomach bug, I took a 2 hour nap. Got up at 6pm, still feeling awful, but took the boys to see Ramona and Beezus (CUTE movie and filmed here in Portland). By the time we got home, I had a fever. Mystery case solved ... it was my turn for the bug. Bleh.
To top it all off, I start my first day of work this afternoon! I am working evenings and weekends at a local gym, and am so excited for this opportunity. I haven't really worked since I had my oldest over 6 years ago (with the exception of helping out at the family company), so this will be fun! I still get to be a stay-at-home momma by day, and get out of the house a few hours in the evenings.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend ... my Fashion Friday outfit above is a simple black romper I got on clearance at Express last month (I think it was $14), paired with my fave Roxy zebra print flip flops (perfect for my putt-putt game), and my go-to pendant necklace from American Eagle.

Fashion Friday is on hold for a few hours while I have my garage sale today, but I will be posting later this afternoon. Hubby and I are going out with friends tonight, so I will show y'all what I'll be wearing!

Whatta Week ...

For those of you who don't follow me on Facebook (link in my sidebar), hubby surprised me with a quick 2-day trip up to Seattle for a little getaway. Nana and Papa watched the boys and we headed North for the weekend. Aaaah!

My sis-in-law and I are setting up one of these on Friday. We have one every year, usually in the beginning of June, but we have been dragging our feet. It always feels so good to purge all the stuff that piles up throughout the year, and we usually make some pretty good money.



I got a part-time job this week! Woot!! I can still be a stay-at-home momma by day, and pick up some hours a few nights a week for some extra cash. I am really looking forward to getting back out in the job world!

A friend of mine came up with the idea of coloring each other's hair to save on salon expenses. We will be getting together tonight. I can't wait to hit up the beauty supply store to pick out my new color. My hair is long overdue!!

I have been cleansing this week as well. I have been so bloated lately with all the summer heat and BBQs. It is so hard for this Italian girl to say no to food, and the scale is definitely proving that statement! It was time to get myself back in check, and with the help of Quick Trim, I did just that!

Anyone Back-to-School shopping yet? Walmart has incredible prices ... like a box of 24 Crayola Crayons for 25 cents!!! I have been collecting items here and there for my first grader. He is getting excited to start school already ... and he doesn't start until September!

This One's For The Girls ...

My bubbies are also known as 'The Girls'. I have a hard-to-find size (32DD) and the only place I have been able to find a bra with the perfect fit is Nordstrom. Wacoal is the brand and it is usually priced in the $60 to $80 range.
Yeah. Ouch.
Bra shopping is definitely not fun, especially with prices like that! So I always get excited when Nordstrom has their sales. I haven't bought a new bra since last year's Half-Yearly Sale (don't judge ... I ain't about to pay full price!!) and was thrilled to see online that there were a couple Wacoal styles on sale.
Off to the fitting room I went ... just because the size and brand is right, doesn't mean they will fit, so ordering online without trying on is outta the question. I tried on 14 bras ... all 32DD and brands such as Natori, Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein and Chantelle. I lucked out with 2 Wacoal French Garden Contour Bras (I tried on 3 Wacoals, but only 2 of them fit just right) and priced at $39.90 each! Score!
