Hi, everyone! I'm Misty from Handbags & Handguns. A little bit about me... I'm a southern girl who loves celebrities, sarcasm, cheap booze, good books, hot vampires, shiny gadgets, pretty clothes, spending money, & good grammar. Basically, I'm awesome and you want to be friends with me.
Every Monday, I do a weekly write-up of the latest Hollywood gossip. It's called The Talk of Tinseltown. Since I was up with a sick toddler tonight, I didn't have time to put together a full rundown like I usually do. So, today, you get a feature on celebrity twins instead. Here are a few female celebs who are commonly mistaken for someone else.

Isla Fisher // Amy Adams

Scarlett Johansson // Amber Heard

Keira Knightley // Natalie Portman

Idina Menzel // Lea Michele

Leighton Meester // Minka Kelly

Nina Dobrev // Victoria Justice

Roselyn Sanchez // Nicole Scherzinger

Katy Perry // Zooey Deschanel

Selena Gomez // Lucy Hale

America Ferrera // Jordin Sparks

Jewel // Renee Zellweger

So, have you ever mixed any of these fabulous ladies up? I personally can't believe how much Amber Heard looks like ScarJo!

I'd like to give a big thanks to April for letting me post at her place today. It's been real. It's been fun.

I tried it - Burt's Bees Intense Hydration

I am a BzzAgent, which means I get sent some really fabulous products to review. I test them out and give my honest opinions and feedback, my BzzScore goes up, and I am invited to do more BzzCampaigns. It really is an awesome deal.
This last week, I was selected to participate in the Burt's Bees Intense Hydration campaign. I was sent a whole box of goodies ... full size bottles, sample sizes, and coupons. I could not have been more thrilled!
Included in this package was a treatment mask with Clary Sage, a Mediterranean plant that packs some power in cruel environments and retains its moisture. Here's what's awesome about this mask ... it does not require water to use it! Slap the cream on, wait 5-10 minutes and wipe away the excess. Massage the remaining traces into your skin and voila! Refreshed and glowing skin in minutes!
The day and night creams are amazing! Super rich textures that absorb into your skin and gives you a beautiful complexion and moisture you can rock for days!. A light scent is the perfect touch to make your face feel radiant!
The cream cleanser has taken up home in my shower. This cleanser washes away all the dirt and make-up and leaves your face clean and soft. Follow-up with the moisturizers and its a tag-team made in heaven!
I am IN LOVE with this new skin care line! The timing of this campaign could not have been better, too! Transitioning into the winter months, my face gets so dry and flaky. Retailing at $10 to $18 each, Burt's Bees Intense Hydration line is here to stay!
Have you tried these products yet? What do you think?

Oct. 31

Happy Halloween!

This is the official calendar "holiday" that kicks off the fall season for me. While I am not a big fan of this particular day, for no other reasons other than expensive, one-day costumes and being the bad cop in our house with the candy, I am excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas that are creeping up around the corner.
This year, our boys decided to skip out on trick-or-treating. Thank you, Jesus! It has been pouring buckets all week and forecasted for tonight as well. Instead, they are rockin' their favorite sport stars attire, and have decided to go on separate dates with their good ol' parents.
Our 8 1/2 year old is going to the opening Portland Trail Blazers game to cheer on his MVP, Lamarcus Aldride against the LA Lakers. He is seriously obsessed with all things NBA, and who better to share that with than his NBA-obsessed dad.
Our 6-year-old has decided on a date night to Toys R Us with his momma. He is excited to add a new WWE action figure to his collection, and I will learn all about the latest stats on each wrestler and hear about the latest drama that is going on in the WWE.
I pondered for a moment if my hubby and I should have encouraged Halloween activities a little more for the childhood experience and all, but the selfish part of me is eating up the fact that the boys just wanna hang with us. We all know there will be a time when this will not be the case, so why not take every chance we can, right?
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe night out tonight! Enjoy your kiddos in their costumes and their sugar-high excitement!

Fashion Friday

Move over sunshine, there's a new season in town! Boots, leg warmers, sweaters ... the joys of fall!

I am loving this over-sized sweatshirt from Victoria's Secret ... a soft mauve color, a versatile neckline, and oh-so-cozy! It can be worn as a cowl neck, off one shoulder or even off both shoulders.

I never would have thought to pair leg warmers with my shorter boots ... thank you Pinterest!

These are my favorite skinny jeans by AG ... love, love love!!!
And what's not to love about Old Navy's long layering tanks ... pretty much a staple for every outfit I wear!

I snagged myself up a few cross bracelets from a friend of a friend who sells these on the East Coast. All of her cute accessories are $12 each and are great quality (unlike others I have purchased for the same price and have fallen apart). Here's the Facebook link if you wanna take a peek at the collection.

I hope everyone had a great week ... have a wonderful weekend!! xoxo

Mani of the Week

Wet N Wild Rain Check and Sally Hansen Golden-I (middle accent)
Two coats of each and topped with NYC Grand Central Station clear coat.
Loving the softer combo ... not quite ready for the bold and darker colors of fall just yet.

Breakfast Made Simple

As we all know, Pinterest is chock full of amazing ideas to help make your life easier. Here is one that I am finding so awesome each and every morning, as I am rushing my family about to get out the door in time. These little breakfast muffin bites are made in batches and can be customized to each person's liking. I love that they can be heated up in the micro for a few seconds, and serve up a warm and filling start to the day!
What you will need:
  • mini muffin pan
  • eggs
  • milk
  • favorite fillers, such as bacon, sausage, ham, cheese and veggies
Super simple directions:
  • Scramble up some eggs in a bowl with a little bit of milk.
  • Add in your fillers. In my pic above, I added shredded cheese, diced bacon and zucchini.
  • Spray your mini muffin pan with cooking spray.
  • Fill muffin trays and pop in the oven.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes, or until eggs are completely cooked through. (You can insert a toothpick to verify. If the pick is clean, the muffins are cooked.)
I like to make these the night before if I know I will not have extra time in the morning to prep and bake. They store in the fridge and are easy to re-heat for a quick morning breakfast or mid-day snack! My kiddos love requesting their favorite combos and I love giving them a wholesome meal to start their days off right!
Has anyone tried these yet? What are some things you do to make your mornings a little easier?

Champagne taste on a root beer budget ...

My title can't even reflect a budget to include actual beer, but here are a few things I have been drooling over thanks to the powers of Nordstrom.
I am all about bundling up now that the rain and wind have returned for the next 9 months ... here's my picks:
 DKNY ... $119.90

 Halifax Traders ... $118.00

 Tahari ... $178.00
~
And of course, we can't go another season without finding a new Ugg boot to wear every.single.day.
These ones here are $259.95!! Yikes!!
But guess who saved the day by featuring a knock-off version?
Oh Target, how I love thee!! These are only $34.99!! Sure, the comfort level won't be anywhere near that of Uggs, but shoot! For that price, I can throw in a pair of comfy socks and still be able to convince my hubby that these were a NEED.
~
What new season items are you dying to call your own?

It is getting chilly here in Oregon, but the sun is still shining and the leaves are simply gorgeous as they are changing colors!
My polish colors this week were inspired by the autumn season.

Two coats of each and NYC Grand Central Station topcoat.
I hope everyone is having a great week!
